The Reverse Funnel System – Your Marketing Funnel to Internet Riches

sales-funnelToday we’re going to talk about the the Reverse Funnel System and how to use Marketing Funnels to to Maximize your Online Efforts.

This is a strategy that, if used and mastered correctly, can change the dynamics of your business “virtually” overnight.

The Marketing Sales Funnel, or the Reverse Funnel System, is probably one of the most genius concepts that ever came down the super highway in the world of Internet Marketing.

Here’s what George D. Harris, President and CEO of Harris Marketing Group, Inc. has to say about it:

“The Reverse Funnel System combines Network Marketing with the power of Internet
Marketing. We no longer have to cold call prospects, chase dead-end leads, spend
themselves broke on advertising campaigns or even hound people about building
true financial freedom for themselves. This system weeds everybody out
and leaves users with highly motivated, truly qualified leads.”

It’s based on the principle that consumers would enter your marketing funnel through several on and offline strategies and go through a “system” to become happy customers. Some of these strategies include the following:

  • Trade shows
  • Advertising
  • Webinar Seminars
  • Live Speaking Engagements
  • Direct Mail
  • Referrals** (Well talk more about this one in a minute)

To explain the concept one step further you can think about it this way. If you are marketing a product, say a nutritional product just to use an example, and you talk to 100 people about your product, you will perhaps get 10 people that will be interested in talking to you about using or marketing your nutritional product.

However, if those same 100 prospects see a capture page of you talking about how you brought in 30 people last month into your primary business because you have discovered the “Secret” to attracting prospects on the Internet, well, let us say that you will have many more people climbing the ladder to the diving board where they can flip, free fall or cannon ball into your funnel.

Your funnel will then become a sort of “pool party” of a wide variety of prospects that are going to see what you have to offer.

In the original model, the prospect would enter the large end of the funnel and go through a process that looked something like this:

  • Marketing Campaigns
  • Awareness
  • Interest
  • Evaluation
  • Commitment
  • Referral or Advocate (*Well talk more about this in a minute)
  • Happy Customer (This happy customer becomes a part of your autoresponder system and you continue to market to them to increase your profits).
  • Repeat the process over again and again

The reverse funnel system is based on the principal that your prospect will fall through your marketing funnel dropping out the other end as a customer who knows you, likes you, and trusts you. This will happen because the whole time they’re in your funnel they will enjoy what you have to offer.

However, if there’s one thing you can be sure of when you’re marketing on the Internet is that the only consistency is the inevitability of change. Every day there are new systems in place and new outlets and possibilities.

The rising popularity of social media and social networking has created the necessity to take the marketing funnel one level deeper and create a category for your advocates. (This is what I was referring to when I said I would speak more about this step in a minute).

Your happy customer will become your greatest asset. Why, you might ask?

People trust other people. If I know someone who recommends a movie or a restaurant AND I know, like and trust that person, you can bet I’ll be in the line to get in. It’s so much more powerful than a recommendation coming from a stranger on the Internet that you really don’t know if the picture is an accurate depiction of them or not.

This changes the whole dynamics of the Internet and has opened up a whole new world of possibility.

This customer becomes YOUR advocate, thereby actually assisting in the process of bringing more customers into the top of your marketing funnel to begin the process themselves.

This will create a synergy that will begin to extend to others falling in line, and so on and so on….

The more customers you have singing your praises on the social networking scene, the better your efforts will pay off.

The old model used to end with keeping the prospect in your pipeline until they would “Buy, Die or Opt Out.”

Today, the bars have been lifted and your customers and prospect are given their virtual freedom to spread their wings and fly.

They have been handed a powerful new weapon that makes honesty and fairness all the more important in your online efforts today. Your customers have in their hands a “virtual microphone” and they can walk into any one of the outlet malls (Facebook, Twitter, My Space, LinkedIn, etc.), set up their podium, and begin spewing your name around to all who will listen.

This can be a good thing or a bad thing. If you have done your customers a dis-service, then the Advocate will drive traffic away from your marketing funnel.

However, if you have done a great job and your customers are happy with you, they will drive traffic to your marketing funnel in droves.

This is a beautiful thing. There’s nothing better when you’re marketing anything, including yourself, online than a happy, satisfied customer.

Today lesson is a simple one, keep your customers and prospects happy and fulfilled and you will have a little army out there touting your praises and creating a following as strong as the Pied Piper into your marketing funnel.

    Great information! You have such an awesome writing style.

    It’s so interesting that the Internet has become such an effective tool for people to connect and get to know each other. Some who don’t “get it” might claim that online marketing is impersonal but when done properly it’s anything but that.

    I’ve found that I’ve been able to form great relationships with so many people that share my interests and values. When you combine this with the simplicity of target marketing through the Internet, the reverse funnel approach is, as you’ve so eloquently stated, “genius”!
